Play At Home:
Contemporary (around 1900 - Today)
This is the period where European and Western composers start to free themselves from the constraints of centuries of Counterpoint and Harmony. New, radical theories of music abound, and experimentation is the name of the game. Dissonance becomes popular, and complicated and difficult rhythms are introduced. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues, much of the music of this period is not represented on the Play at Home page. A few contemporary composers have given me permission to
use their pieces.
